(Senior Division will be set, if necessary, in early February).

Q: Why does my child need to attend a player evaluation or tryout for Little League baseball?

A: Evaluations are to help ensure players are properly according to their skill set.  Tryouts are set for drafting divisions.  The tryout allows a player to display their skill set for each respective head coach who must draft players according to their roster needs.  Failure or refusal to attend a tryout removes a players ability to be drafted and at WPLL this then removes a players eligibility to be selected for an All-Star tournament team.

Q: What if my child is not drafted into a draft eligible division?

A: All players registered while registration is open will be assigned to a WPLL team.  In the upper divisions any player who is not drafted on to a Majors team is assigned to a Minor division team.  A player not drafted by a Junior team is assigned to an Intermediate (50/70) division team.

Q: Does WPLL need volunteers?

A: YES!!  Little League is a volunteer organization.  WPLL welcomes and works with our amazing volunteers around their personal availability.  Please consider registering for a volunteer role when registering your child.  Any and all adults who wish to be on the field of play or inside the dugout must be registered as a league volunteer.  You can register after registering as well by selecting the role you are interested in under the volunteer tab or when completing your child(ren)s registration.

Q: Are canceled registrations subject to fees?

A: No cancelation fees are charged unless uniforms have been ordered or a player began participating in team activities.  If uniforms have been ordered a fee of $50 will be applied to any cancelled registration but the jersey is the players to keep.

Q: What are team practice schedules?

A: Head coaches select practice days and times around their availability for their team.  Parents can enter under the "special request" box when registering if specific days of the week are not preferred for practice.  Head coaches are not informed of their set practice time(s) until the WPLL Head Coach Meeting (see events page on Facebook when posted).
WPLL does reserve fields 7 days a week to offer teams a variety of options.  Many teams do offer a practice on Sunday to increase field time.

Q: When can parents expect to be contacted by someone with WPLL?

A: Coach Pitch, Rookie, Minor, Major and Junior division parents will receive an email from a league official by January 8th, if new to WPLL or moving up into a new division.  Returning parents who are not attending evaluations or tryouts (except seniors) will hear from their head coach on or before January 23rd.

Q: What should I do if it is telling me "contact league admin" when trying to complete registration?

A:  Message us on Facebook, ideally between 8 AM - 9 PM for quickest response or email.
