13.  HOW TO DECIDE BETWEEN TEE BALL OR AA (ROOKIES)?

All players league age 6, or younger, must play a season of tee-ball before playing in the AA division.  League age 5's are eligible for AA (rookies) with a coaches recommendation and/or attending player evaluations (see next FAQ question).  If a parent registers a league age 6 year old in AA (rookies) and they have not played a season of tee-ball nor attend player evaluations, they will be moved to the tee-ball division.

14.  WHY ARE THERE PLAYER EVALUATIONS?

Evaluations are for players registered in all divisions, except Tee Ball, league age 6 - 15 who are new to WPLL or aging up/requesting a move to the next level (division).  Evaluations are held to ensure proper player placement and all around player safety.

15.  WHY ARE THERE TRYOUTS?

Tryouts are only for players league age 9 - 16 registered in the major division or above who have not been previously drafted in their division.  By Little League rule a player must attend a tryout to be eligible for the player draft.  At WPLL a player who refuses to attend a scheduled tryout is ineligible for consideration for the All-Star tournament at the conclusion of the spring season.

16.  ATTENDED A TRYOUT BUT WAS NOT SELECTED IN THE DRAFT.

Not all players can be selected for each respective division draft.  A player league age 9, 10 & 11 may get drafted to a majors team.  If not, they will be placed on a AAA division team.  All League age 12 players will be drafted to a majors team unless there is a safety concern.  A player league age 13 not selected would be placed in the intermediate division.  A player league age 14, 15, or 16 not selected for their respective division would be contacted directly about a potential placement in a lower division, with district approval.

17.  REGISTERING FOR THE 50/70 (INTERMEDIATE) TEAM?

Any player league age 11, 12 or 13 that would like to be considered for the intermediate division must send an email to be considered.   Players are subject to a try out to be considered for a spot on the team.
