West Pasco Little League

Major Division Information

This division is for players league age 9 - 12.  Roster size ranges from 10-12 players per team, typically.  This division is more competitive but still fun and instructional.  This is a division for more advanced kid pitch.

Expect a game schedule typically of 16 - 20 games.  Nearly all games are scheduled Monday - Thursday and each team typically has 2 to 3 games a week.  The occasional weekend game may be scheduled due to tournament, rain, or league need.  There are opportunities to travel and play teams from other local leagues.

Each team will typically practice at least 1 - 2 times per week.  Most teams do utilize Sunday practices as an extra field practice.  A teams practice day(s) are set by the head coach.  If specific day(s) of the week is/are not feasible for your family please be sure to include in the special request box when completing registration.

Coach / Friend requests are considered but not guaranteed.

There is a tryout in the Spring to be eligible in the Major Division Draft.  Players not previously drafted must tryout to be eligible to be selected.  A player must remain eligible to be drafted to a Major Division team if skill level deems them appropriate to be considered for a WPLL All-Star team, if selected.  All league age 12's will be drafted unless there is a clear and obvious safety concern.

A player drafted to a team remains with that group of players throughout the players eligible time in the Major Division.  For example a player drafted at league age 10 will remain on that roster for any spring and fall season through a players league age 12 spring season.  Any exception must be approved by the league's player agent and the league president.  Fall rosters are kept from the prior Spring with new players to the division being assigned to existing rosters with open roster spots.
