New Little League Bat Rules: (Effective Jan 1, 2018)
LITTLE LEAGUE® TO ADOPT NEW USA BASEBALL BAT STANDARD STARTING WITH 2018 SEASON
Bats are changing and the bats currently used in 2017 and prior will not be legal effective January 1, 2018. The new approved bats will have a performance similar to a wood bat. With this change, big barrel bats will be available for all ages including the younger divisions. The new approved bats are now available. The full article regarding this new change can be found by clicking the below link. The new bat standards will not only be in effect for Little League but many other youth baseball leagues such as Cal Ripken, Babe Ruth and Pony to name a few.
Only bats marked with the new seal of approval may be used. WPLL will provide each team/manager with an approved bat which everyone on the team may use. If you purchase your own bat make sure it is Little League USA Bat approved.
